"How religion poisons the world" - The subtitle of the new book by Christopher Hitchens, a Washington living in literary and cultural critics in England meet, just the contents of the book. It spreads fear, intolerance, sexism, violence, abuse and was therefore a decent living together in the way. A good world needs no fettering of the free intelligence by words that were spoken long ago by ignorant men. It needs a fearless outlook on the future (Bertrand Russell, 1927). Hitchens book is a good read for anyone wishing to guard against abuses of religion in human rights and human dignity, even if the translation is at times a bit bumpy.
