boat trip to Battambang + Kampot

From Siem Reap we went to Battambang by boat. Not because Battambang is so beautiful, but because of the boat.
About Lake Tonle Sap, we went on the river upstream Strung Sangker. Sometimes the river is totally overgrown with water hyacinth. The stuff grows like weeds here. Further up the river is quite narrow and winding. By Rainfall in the flow rate was quite high. The boat had to really fight it. Sometimes we thought it overturns DC. The Inclination was sometimes comparable to the Inclination of Valentino Rossi at the last motorcycle Grand Prix.
revealed on this 10 hour river trip is once again the reality of Cambodia. The people are poor. Would be nice if someone would notice how many times Brain capital for the country is lost if it is not school. But who likes to cut the branch you the one to sit comfortably when the aid comes from the coal you can live comfortably. Nevertheless, we are always surprised how friendly the people we meet.
Kampot is a small sleepy town on the south coast. Here we made a trek through the Bokor National Park to the hill station. At the top there is an abandoned small town. Specifically, a old Royal Hotel from the 20's, which has been empty since the 70s. As we once again designated active and it was foggy at the top, saw it a little bit of spooky.
On the second day we took a Mopettour along the coast and the Kompong Trach Caves. The rocks lie in the caves has more holes than a Swiss cheese. On the Mopettour Andreas has also drive his Meisterpruefung stored in motocross. It requires no special route, but easy to drive only in the side streets. That's enough. Oh by the way It has been raining like hell again.
